We have no idea what Leia is mixed with. She has a very long, lean build. Leia is 7 years old, but don’t let that fool you, as she’s quite spry for her age. She loves going for walks and hikes – and she’s great on leash! In fact, she is so good, she’ll walk right past other dogs – even annoying, barking dogs! She pays them no mind. In our many years, we can’t think of too many other dogs who are so polite when walking on leash.
Now, her favorite thing in the entire world is fetch. Leia is in fact an excellent fetcher and knows to drop the ball for you. And she’s very good, doesn’t get into your garden or dig up the yard. She is simply content to lounge around and sun herself (or rest in the shade if it’s hot!) Leia would love a home with a fenced yard in which she could spend time outside!
Leia is a very outgoing, friendly, fun dog – and super smart! She’s already well trained and obedient. Inside the house, she is very well behaved and doesn’t get into anything she shouldn’t. She is simply content to play with her toys or lounge on her dog bed. Her foster mom has fostered a ton of dogs over the years and describes Leia as a very “easy,” turn-key dog. Leia has also lived with young kids in the past. She’s very well mannered and doesn’t jump up on furniture or get into things she shouldn’t. She loves going for car rides and is great in the car. And she’s crate trained – very quiet in there too. She does have some minor and very manageable kidney issues. Our MABB vet said everything looks fine, however she does need a home in which she can get a mid-day walk to pee, or someone who is not gone for long hours. Aside from that, her kidneys are working just fine and she is an overall happy, healthy dog.
She does well with the other dogs in her foster home in that they ignore each other and while she will try to chase the cat from time to time, it’s all in good fun and she is generally good with the cat. Please note that the first step in our process is the adoption application found on our website midatlanticbullybuddies.org. Leia is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Leia’s adoption fee has been waived and is sponsored by a very generous donor.
