This smiley, handsome, happy, fun, well-behaved mixed breed guy is Ken. Ken is approx. 4 – 5 years old – the perfect age really. He’s housebroken and crate trained. He’s quiet and calm and loves playing with his toys or playing fetch. But he can also relax in the house and chew a bone or cuddle with you. Ken has the perfect energy level – he’s up for a nice walk or hike but also happy to just hang out while you make dinner. In fact, Ken doesn’t need a whole lot of exercise at all. Ken is just an all-around fantastic dog, with an all-around fantastic personality. He is being fostered with – a bird! And as you can see from the photo, does well with the bird 🙂 He has also done well with the other dogs in his foster home after properly slow introductions, and cats. Mostly, Ken just ignores other animals and is perfectly happy to peacefully coexist with them.

One thing Ken is working on is his leash walking. Ken had some leash reactivity when he first came to us and we realized that Ken strongly prefers a home with a yard where he doesn’t have to be leash walked every day. With time and limited exposure to leash walking, Ken can adjust to his new environment and routine. In fact, after taking a few weeks to settle into his foster home, Ken’s foster reports that Ken is now able to completely ignore other dogs who bark at him from their yard. Ken is still working on passing other on-leash barking dogs but he’s improving everyday!

If you think you have the right home for Ken, please note that the first step in our process is the adoption application found on our website, Ken is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
